Founder members Ferg, Geoff and guitarist Colin Woore started playing together in Glasgow 11 years ago, eventually arriving in London as 'Motion Pictures' in May 1980. After a few haphazard months, Steve Hogarth joined them from the Newtrinos, and the Europeans were born.

Their first appearance on record was with John Otway on his album "All Balls And No Willy" which was recorded in 1982 with "The Europeans" as backing band.
