Welcome to the Front Row Club!

This recording was made as a reference for ourselves while touring and as an archive of our live performance - it was never planned to be released. We have taken the original recording and 'mastered' it to provide a better sonic experience, however it has not been re-touched or overdubbed in any way. This recording is provided "as is" - warts and all - for your listening pleasure, so please keep this in mind when listening!

The Front Row Club is intended for those with "Front Row" passion for the band and it's touring history. And, of course, the future! Thank you for sharing your passion with us.

As I recall, this was an unusual warm day for october in Holland. I had more or less lost touch with Marillion since 1995 when I last went to the 'Afraid of Sunlight' tour in Rotterdam, and only recently had I seen the 'Anoraknophobia' tour in May in the Heineken Music Hall. It was actually that show that brought me back on the right track.

As we went to Tilburg, I entered the 013 hall (013 is the phone area code of Tilburg, it was formerly and old Cinema, and was called 'Noorderlicht' - Northern Lights - when I last visited this hall). Expectations were high - I was not yet on the internet then, and we didn't know about voting for the setlist on the Marillion Website. I was truly amazed as they started off with This Strange Engine, as I had never seen that live before. It already was one of my favourite tracks, and since then it has jumped to the top of my list.

Giving us such a start, things couldn't go wrong anymore, Quartz, When I meet God, and the full version of This Town! Tears in my eyes during Out of The World and The 21st Century. We had a wonderful evening, and I felt kind of reborn when we left for home again. To me this concert was definite confirmation that this is THE band for me. I haven't missed a tour nor a world-wide-convention since then. This band had definitely changed my life in a positive way.
