Welcome to the Front Row Club!

This recording was made as a reference for ourselves while touring and as an archive of our live performance - it was never planned to be released. We have taken the original recording and 'mastered' it to provide a better sonic experience, however it has not been re-touched or overdubbed in any way. This recording is provided "as is" - warts and all - for your listening pleasure, so please keep this in mind when listening!

The Front Row Club is intended for those with "Front Row" passion for the band and it's touring history. And, of course, the future! Thank you for sharing your passion with us.

This concert was set as the main event of The Web Spain's second Marillion Convention. The first one, a year before, was no bigger thing than just a meeting of Marillion fans, to hear some music and play some videos. And the next one, a year later, featured the whole band playing one of the most amazing shows ever seen here in Spain (already released as FRC-012, by the way!). This gives you an idea of how the Web Fan Clubs have grown.

I recall this acoustic gig as a very special one, not only because it was the first time the Web Spain was directly involved in bringing the band to play here, but also because it was an unusual line-up. H, Steve and Pete on their own managed to create a unique atmosphere; I still remember the thrill we all felt inside when H sat down at the keyboard and played Easter and Cover My Eyes on his own. Sometimes the beauty of such songs emerges when played like this, when there is nothing else to distract you. It's just the song there, naked.

But what I remembered most about the show has nothing to do with the music itself, but that once  the show had finished, H, Steve and Pete left the stage and spend a long time with their fans. I had the opportunity to talk with them, and I even got my Spanish guitar signed with H's drawings. That's when I realized there was no sign of "rock star ego" in those three guys, and they proved that Marillion music is deep and heartfelt, no matter how it is played.
