the day after Pete got beat up. Like a trooper, he did
the gig even if he was still seeing stars! I remember
there was a SNAFU with the time the gig started vs what
the time written on the tickets. |

Marillion gig before that night! Incredible acoustics
though. And I got the chance to do an interview with
Steve Rothery that night that was published in the now
sadly late Cyclone magazine. |

from a late night trip from QC to Montreal, crashing on
Charles Gingras' floor, I clearly remember watching a
bit of Diana's funeral shown live in the morning
(Montreal's time) prior to heading out to Le Spectrum. I
had the chance to interview Mark that day after
soundcheck (never published interview, unfortunately...)
During sound check, they rehearsed Abraham, Martin &
John (& Diana!). I remember turning to Rob Crossland
to find out what this gem was. It was played later that
night in what must have been the 88th encore!! :-) I
never thought Poughkeepsie 95 could ever be topped as a
gig, but Marillion proved me wrong that night! I've
heard a boot of the complete gig, and it doesn't do it
half justice. Maybe the FRC will capture the incredible
energy of that night!? Oh, BTW, when I interviewed Mark,
I got to see 2 large tables packed with presents and
cards sent by members of the Freaks list to Pete meant
as "get well presents". He was truly
overwhelmed, let me assure you!! (I don't know why, the
wine and liquor bottles seemed to be quite popular with
the rest of the band)!... ;-) |
